Recommended Restaurants in the Surroundings of Can Lluc

The rural hotel Can Lluc is located in the heart of the island, in Sant Rafel, surrounded by nature and beautiful landscapes. Its privileged location provides easy access to some of Ibiza’s finest restaurants, from authentic payesa houses to new gastronomic concepts that have recently opened.

At Can Lluc, we love recommending special places that our guests have discovered and valued. Here you’ll find our updated selection of nearby restaurants, including both essential classics and new openings that are making waves on the island.

Can Tixedó

Can Tixedó is an old village bar located on an inland road right in the rural heart of Buscastell. It hosts a multicultural atmosphere year-round. Every day, locals pass through the establishment, some of them livestock farmers and agricultural workers, alongside foreign residents, some of whom are former hippies from their era.

A few years ago, the owners, Juanito and Lina, managed to turn their business around, so they now have a very broad clientele of tourists who come on vacation. You could say this is thanks to their wonderful terrace, where local DJs come to play on some days, and to the extensive selection of Ibizan, Mediterranean, and other regional tapas they offer. The bar’s tapas vary according to the day; they typically offer payesa salad, lasagna, homemade meatballs, octopus frita, Galician-style octopus, etc.

Inside the bar, you can find exhibited works by different artists. Each month they inaugurate a new art exhibition in their gallery space; it has become a reference point for lovers of Ibiza’s more cosmopolitan side. Over recent years, local, national, and international artists have left their mark on the walls of this small bar.

Can Pilot

This restaurant, also located in the heart of the island, offers some of the finest grilled beef cooked over charcoal. Their star dish is the ox ribeye steak. Apart from this dish, they also cook payés chicken, lamb chops, lamb secreto, etc. In addition to meats, they also have a great variety of typical dishes, such as octopus frita, pork frito, stuffed eggplants… and salads. At the end of the meal, they offer homemade desserts typical of the island such as graixonera and flaó, among others.

All the meats in the establishment spend time in cold storage chambers to “macerate” and achieve the ideal point of tenderness and flavor. The time they spend in the chambers varies depending on the characteristics of each animal.

At Can Pilot they offer quality meats, which is why they carefully attend to every detail. Something peculiar about this place is that they sear the meat on the grill, slice it, and the customers themselves finish cooking it on a mini charcoal grill that they bring so each person can prepare it to their taste.

Can Cosmi

Can Cosmi is a village bar in Santa Inés that offers one of the best potato tortillas on the island. It opened in 1951, and in those times only local neighbors would come by for a drink and take the opportunity to sell their carob or almond harvests.

The owners María Costa and Pep Boned are still at the establishment, but currently their children are in charge. When the first tourists arrived, María began cooking her successful potato tortillas, which were very well-liked, and since then it has become a tradition. You could say it’s a simple but very well-known and family-run bar.

The terrace, with views of the Santa Inés church and the warmth of the sun mixed with the family’s kindness, make Can Cosmi, despite its simplicity, a much-visited place by both residents and tourists alike.

Es Tancó

Located on the main street of Sant Rafel, this is another Italian restaurant housed in an Ibizan-style building. It stands out for its incredible wood-fired oven where they cook their 36 different types of pizzas. In addition to their pizzas, they also make homemade pastas and other dishes such as squid or Iberian pork pluma.

Besides having an Italian chef, their ingredients come from authentic Italy, achieving dishes with a fresh and unique touch. On the other hand, they only work with Spanish wineries, so the wines they offer are also spectacular.

This restaurant remains open year-round. Their outdoor terrace is prepared for both summer and winter. When it’s cold, they cover it and light a fireplace that creates a pleasant atmosphere. Additionally, on the upper level they have a room for celebrations, birthdays, business dinners, anniversaries, etc.

Bar Costa

This bar located in front of the Santa Gertrudis church is known for its spectacular sandwiches, especially the serrano ham one. It’s a true tradition to go to the terrace to enjoy a sandwich in the sun with views of the village church.

The bar was acquired in 1963 by Vicent Roig Pi, and it was that same year when the establishment began to be well-known. In the 70s, the village was full of hippies with whom the owner managed to connect. The owner began acquiring paintings from artists and selling them to tourists; with this money he continued buying paintings from artists like Antonio Villanueva, Monreal, Pomar… and built a collection of 80 paintings, most of which are found on the walls of the establishment. Currently it’s run by his son Pep and his grandson Vicent.
