Can Lluc enters April top ten of charming hotels

The Ibizan boutique hotel climbs 69 slots in one month to land at number eight on the ranking of 250 Spanish hotels


Agritourism outfit Can Lluc has staged an unprecedented ascent of‘s top ten list of charming hotels, settling in among the leading site’s foremost picks. In March, Can Lluc climbed 69 spots before landing at number eight between Cantabria’s Posada de Cucayo and Pontevedra’s Casa do Sear. The website is produced by Fernando Gallardo, a journalist, writer, speaker, trend scout and analyst of new concepts in tourism who has worked in media outlets like El País and

This tally of the most charming hotels is based on preferences of real people—on clicks, guest recommendations, likes and Gallardo’s own rating. Can Lluc’s stunning surge took them from 77 to a spot among the top ten best charming hotels in Spain. Gallardo says that “changes like this are mainly the result of video promotion,” something that made waves among Can Lluc’s 19,000 Facebook followers and 58,600 fans on Twitter. The reporter and hotel critic for El País has been called one of global tourism’s most influential analysts. He occupies the top one percent of every category on the Kred index, a platform that measures online reputations based on an open-source algorithm which calculates the reach and influence of user posts.

Hoteles Con Encanto, a guidebook of charming hotels, was a bestseller for six straight years that defied all expectations. Since 1990 it is Spain’s go-to source for rankings of cosy hotels with a personal touch and Gallardo is currently preparing to make the leap from 250 to 500 hotels. Four other Ibizan hotels are also included in the selection: Sa Talaia at 52, Es Cucons at 87, Ca N’Escandell at 139 and Es Vivé at 166.
